Union City’s Hunter Horton: Athlete Spotlight Presented By BancFirst
- Updated: March 1, 2020
The Tigers of Union City High School have six seniors on the roster and small forward Hunter Horton is one of them. Horton, a 6-footer, is known for his ability to play good defense and his shooting. He’s also a great teammate. His passion for the game drives him to work hard on and off the court and his love for his teammates is never in question.
“I love my teammates because they are great people to be around, on and off the court. As for my team I love how much effort they will always put towards the game,” said Horton.
One of his more memorable moments came when he scored his first high school basket.
“My first time scoring in a high school game is probably what I will remember most from playing here. I hit back-to-back three’s my freshman year,” said Horton.
His future plans include going to college and pursuing a degree; in what he’s not exactly sure yet.
“I plan on attending Southwestern Oklahoma State University or Oklahoma State University next year,” said Horton.
Success is sure to follow Horton has he looks to close out a great high school career at Union City.
Look for Horton and the Tigers this season with two game on the road at Southwest Covenant and Corn Bible Academy and a home game on January 31st versus Alex.
