Mustang’s Cade Schroeder: Athlete of the Month Presented By Excel Therapy
- Updated: March 1, 2020
Cade Schroeder is a senior basketball player for Mustang High School. Schroeder was off to a great start this season, stuffing the stat sheet averaging 16 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals per game.
“My role is to score and rebound and just bringing energy on defense,” said Schroeder, “I try to lead starting at practice and also just bringing energy early in games by talking to my teammates and just getting everybody going.”
According to Schroeder, Mustang’s goal this season is to finish with a great record and make it to the State Tournament, but he knows they have work to do.
“We’re going to have to start trusting each other more and just compete every day at practice, also just trusting our coaches to prepare us and put us in situations to win,” said Schroeder.
One thing that really stands out about Schroeder is his character.
“Character means a lot to me,” said Schroeder, “it doesn’t matter what you do on the court, it’s what you do off the court. I won’t to be known as a good person off the court, not just a good basketball player. So that’s why I try to help my teammates outside of basketball with anything they need.”
Schroeder is a standout in the classroom with a 3.7 GPA and is involved in FCA. After high school he wants play college basketball. He plans on getting a degree in something that will allow him to help people.
