Starting in just the first grade Seminole High School senior Cepado Wilkins has been playing basketball for the majority of his life. Playing point guard for the Chieftains Cepado knows what it takes to work hard, lead, and get the job done. He is also involved in STUCO and track for the school.

God and family is what keeps this dedicated senior going strong.

“I am a heavy believer in God,” said Cepado.

He attends church every Sunday and is extremely close to both of his parents.

Cepado is looking forward to having a great basketball season this year.

“I am looking forward to trying to have the best season I can have and to ask God to help me along the way,” Cepado said.

Cepado’s favorite part of the sport is the ability it has to bring people together.

His motivation comes from God for the dedicated athlete.

“God motivates me the most. Then I would have to say my parents,” said Cepado.

Cepado lost his sister to cancer and that has been a huge motivating factor.

“If she can fight cancer then I can compete my hardest on the court,” said Cepado.

He not only attends regular practice, but goes to the gym early to work on his shots. After practice he is dedicated to his school work and completing his homework for his classes.

This school year Cepado is looking forward to graduation. After high school he plans on attending college to major in business.
