Millwood’s Nykale Cramer – Character Counts Presented by Eskridge Honda

The Millwood Character Counts honor goes to Nykale Cramer, a junior girls basketball player. Cramer was named to the VYPE Girls Basketball Top 100 to start this season and has lived up to the hype averaging a double-double with 12.5 points and over 10 rebounds through two games.  Her performance has helped Millwood to a 2-0 start.

During the offseason Cramer worked on ball handling and shooting to improve and her goal for the season is to get better as an overall player and continue learning the game. Cramer and her teammates also have big goals for this season.

“The goal this season is to win the state finals, we made it to the semifinals last season and this year we want to finish the job,” said Cramer.

Character is something that clearly means a lot to Nykale.

“Character to me just means being a good person and it’s just who you are,” said Cramer, “I just try to be who I am on an everyday basis and do what’s right. My parents have always taught me to do what’s right even if I’m standing alone.”

Cramers play on the court has earned her a lot of attention from colleges. So far, she has heard from UMKC, Southern Nazarene, North Florida, Texas St, Illinois State and St. Peters among others.

Outside of basketball Cramer is a pitcher, third baseman and first baseman on the fastpitch team and competes in the 4×100, 4×200 and 200m on the track team.  She is also a standout in the classroom with a 4.0 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society. After high school she plans to play college basketball and pursue a nursing degree.
