Deer Creek Antlers

Coach: Mike Donnelly

18-19 Record: 15-11

The Deer Creek Antlers enter the 2019-2020 season lacking a lot of experience. But fourth year head coach Mike Donnelly says that what his team lacks in experience, they make up in other areas. “We are an inexperienced group,” Donnelly said. “But these guys are a hard-working group and they are hungry to prove themselves.” Returning to be a presence down low is Jalyn Todd (6-5, Sr.), who averaged six points, five rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game. He will look to be a strong presence on the defensive end as well, disrupting the flow of the opponents. Jerry Tullis (5-10, Sr.) will lead the backcourt at the guard position. Tullis tallied 3.7 points and 1.8 rebounds per contest last season. Players expected to make a key impact for the Antlers this season are Sam Battle (5-10, Jr.), Mason Blackburn (6-1, Jr.), Da’Quan Brown (6-2, Jr.), and Derrick Baker (6-0, So.). Other players to watch are Joseph Schick (6-2, Sr.), Zack Smith (6-2, Sr.), and Zack Means (5-11, Jr.). Returning as Donnelly’s assistant coaches are Anthony Bowie, Jacob Cortesio, and Dan Erb.

Coach: Alex Moorehead

18-19 Record: 16-10

The 2018-19 basketball season was a good one for the Deer Creek girls team, but they are not satisfied with good. They are entering this season looking to go further than they did a year ago. Head coach Alex Moorehead says his team knows what he expects from them. “I want them to play hard, play smart, and play together,” he said. “When the season is over, I want them to have fun and played without regrets.”

The lady antlers will be lead on the floor by a group of four seniors who are ready to make a statement during their last year of high school basketball. Brenna Burk (6-0, Sr.) is an athletic player that that is a leader on and off the floor. Looking to be a strong presence on both ends of the floor, Rylie Patterson (6-1, Sr.) will play a big role this season. Skylar Vann (6-0, Sr.) is a player that has big play ability, while Bri Scott (5-10, Sr.) is an exciting player to watch and can make a big impact this year. Other key players for Deer Creek this season will be Angel Scott (5-9, Jr.), Jenna Marshall (5-8, Jr.), Allie Hardzog (5-6, Jr.), and Maddie Cooper (5-6, Jr.). The roster is full of other players that are expecting to make a contribution this season. Those players include Ally Patton (5-9, Sr.), Caitlyn Kiehn (6-1, Sr.), Daija Sims (5-9, Sr.), and Rachel Kate Puckett (5-11, Jr.).
