Piedmont Football Feature – Presented by INTEGRIS Health Edmond

Head coach Jeff Hall is bringing a new offense to the Piedmont football program in his first season running the show. The flexbone offense will feature Bo Hardy (5-11, 175, Sr.) at running back. Hardy is a hard runner with good speed and the ability to rip off big chunks of yards. Wide receiver Doran Hillman (6-4, 200, Sr.) figures to play a big role this season. Hillman has tremendous size at the position and could cause matchup problems for smaller defensive backs. Colby Matlock (5-8, 160, Sr.) and Decata Warrior (5-10, 185, Jr.) will figure into the overall scheme of the offense at running back, as will Devontae Pickard (5-10, 195, Sr.). All of the backs on the roster bring something to the table for Piedmont. Jett Boyd (5-10, 240, Sr.) starts at center with Colton Bramblett (6-7, 310, Jr.) at guard. The pair anchors an offensive line that will rely on a good mix of experienced veterans and young talent. “We are excited to bring a new offensive and defensive scheme to Piedmont,” Hall said. “These kids are very coachable and eager to pick up the new system.”

Hardy will start at linebacker with Caden Henderson (6-2, 190, Jr.) at outside linebacker. These guys can motor and give the Wildcats two players that love contact. Callaway Weier (6-3, 270, Sr.) has the job of plugging the middle of the line at defensive tackle with James Maguire (6-1, 240, So.). Kameron West (6-4, 205, Jr.) and Jared Heath (6-4, 190, Sr.) have a great opportunity to become the most lethal pair of defensive ends in the district. Palmer McColl (6-1, 185, Sr.) gets the nod in the secondary. McColl brings good cover skills and the ability to make tackles to the secondary. Look for some new faces in the defensive backfield. Hall wants “max effort” from his defensive players as they look to stop the run and control the line of scrimmage.
