After spending a season in rebuild mode, head coach Shannon Watford is ready to turn up the heat and get Douglass back to their winning ways. Look for a more aggressive passing attack and more physical line play. Bryan Zeigler (6-0, 180, Sr.) will be a big part of that passing game in 2019. Zeigler is joined in the passing attack by Raishawn Dozier (5-7, 145, Jr.). Both guys have good speed and excellent hands. Quarterback Jesus Morey (5-10, 165, So.) can move in the pocket or hurt a defense with his ability to scramble and gain positive yards. Keavontae Broome (5-9, 170, Sr.) adds depth to the wide receiver position and help this team stretch the field. Jaquez Thompson (5-10, 250, Sr.) and D’Kel Conner (6-3, 260, Sr.) anchor the offensive line. “2018 was a rebuilding year for the Trojans,” said coach Shannon Watford. “2019 looks to be a better year for the Trojans a year after being in the program. The kids have really bought into … the ultimate goal, which is bringing another gold ball to Douglass.”

The Trojans will run the 4-2-5 with Thompson playing noseguard and Zeigler starting at strong safety. Elijah Cubit (6-0, 220, Sr.) will move to defensive tackle giving the Trojans two guys up front that can stop the run. Defensive end Romeo Garland (6-0, 185, Jr.) can use his quickness to get up field and press quarterbacks. Jaquan Hill (5-8, 170, Jr.) patrols the middle of the field at linebacker. Jahden Frazier (5-10, 165, So.) gets the nod at free safety. His speed and ability to defend the pass is essential for the Trojan defense. The Trojans have added C.J. Walker and Andre McCorvey to the coaching staff that also includes Ray Headley, Demetrius Ward, Terrance Green, David Mustin, Colin Watford and Jake Combest.
